David Woolcott

David Woolcott has been a highly regarded member of Guelph’s legal community for over 20 years. He practices primarily in the areas of personal injury law and disability benefits. David also practices in the areas of family law, employment law, and estate litigation.

As one of Guelph’s leading personal injury lawyers, David has extensive experience in mediation and litigation. He has appeared across Ontario in the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Ontario Court of Appeal.

David is a member of the Wellington Law Association, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association. David is an active member of the Guelph community. He was previously the president of the Board of Directors for Wyndham House. Currently he sits on the steering committee for “100 Men Guelph” which has raised $200,000.00 for local charitable organizations. David sits on the Board of the Guelph Ringette Association and is the Director of Coach and Player Development.

Jonathan Krashinsky

Jonathan Krashinsky grew up in Toronto, but has called Guelph home for the last fifteen years. He earned his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from Queen’s University in 1999 and his LL.B. from Dalhousie University in 2005. He was called to the bar in 2006. Jonathan practices primarily in the areas of family law and child protection law. He also maintains a practice in the areas of criminal law, employment law, and wills and estates at Woolcott Krashinsky.

Jonathan has been representing clients in courts across Ontario since he was called, and has appeared in both the Ontario and the Superior Court of Justice representing clients on motions, trials, and appeal work. He has extensive trial experience in both the Ontario Court and the Superior Court, and a proven track record of results in contested matters.

Jonathan is also a skilled negotiator, and has appeared before mediators and arbitrators on behalf of clients who prefer an out-of-court process. As a lawyer trained in collaborative family law, he is a member of the Speed River Collaborative Association in Guelph, which maintains a network of lawyers and professionals who work cooperatively to resolve family law disputes.

Jonathan is a member of the Wellington Law Association and the Canadian Bar Association. In his spare time, Jonathan is an avid marathon runner, who is proud to have ran the Boston Marathon in 2018. He enjoys skiing, cycling, and cooking, and has lived in downtown Guelph for over 15 years.

Vicki NewbyVicki NewbySenior Law Clerk

Vicki is our firm’s Senior Law Clerk and accounts manager. Vicki has worked in litigation for more than 15 years, and has worked as a law clerk in Ontario since 2005. Prior to joining the firm in Guelph, Vicki worked in Montreal managing a law firm that practiced in the areas of civil litigation, family, wills and estates. Vicki is a member of the Institute of Law Clerks for Ontario and completed all four courses offered by the Institute in 2005 at Conestoga College. Vicki works part time and when she is not at the office, enjoys visiting with her family, especially her grandchildren, and friends.

Amber ErwinAmber ErwinLitigation and Accident Benefits Clerk

Amber Erwin is our firm’s Litigation and Accident Benefits Clerk and has been part of our team since 2005. Amber is a lifelong Guelph resident and a graduate from the University of Guelph. She oversees our firm’s personal injury, motor vehicle accident, and disability claims throughout all stages of proceedings, under the supervision of David Woolcott. Amber is experienced working with a wide range of clients, assisting them in understanding and navigating the litigation process. Our clients can trust her to keep the details of their case organized and on track, while keeping them informed and involved along the way. In her spare time, Amber enjoys baking sweet treats for her family and friends, watching sports with her husband, and spending endless hours at the dance studio with her two daughters.

Tracy TreloarTracy TreloarGeneral Clerk

Tracy Treloar is our firm’s general clerk, and has worked with the office since 2015. Tracy is one of our part-time staff and assists both David and Jonathan with their personal injury and family files.

Samantha Denis Samantha Denis Paralegal

Samantha is currently away on maternity leave until approximately July or August of 2024. Emily Benson is currently handling Samantha’s duties.  

Samantha began her legal career as a legal assistant and receptionist for the firm in 2018. She has since progressed in her duties and is now a family paralegal working under the supervision of Jonathan Krashinsky. Samantha assists Jonathan with drafting various materials and meeting with clients. Samantha graduated from the University of Guelph in 2016 with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and Public Policy. She went on to complete the Paralegal program at Conestoga College in 2017, and is an active member of the Law Society of Ontario. She is also a published author. Samantha was raised in Scarborough, Ontario before moving to Guelph for school in 2012, and deciding to stay permanently. In her spare time, she enjoys writing and spending time with her family.

Emily BensonEmily BensonLegal Assistant

Emily is our family paralegal. Emily began work for our firm in January of 2021 as a legal assistant and receptionist but graduated to our family paralegal for Jonathan while his paralegal, Samantha, is away on maternity leave until July or August of 2024. In 2019, Emily graduated from Sheridan College with a diploma in the Paralegal program. She obtained her Paralegal license in early 2020. Emily is compassionate, understanding, and always willing to assist clients in a courteous and professional manner. Emily grew up in Milton, Ontario before moving to Guelph in 2019. In her spare time, she can be found reading, painting and spending time with her family.

Emily BensonBrooke CostaFamily Law Clerk

Brooke is our firm’s newest family law clerk working under the supervision of Jonathan Krashinsky. Brooke is a graduate of the Legal Office Assistant program at Centennial College where she graduated with Honours and has worked with the firm since October of 2023. Brooke previously worked for another law firm in Guelph. Brooke grew up in London, Ontario before moving to Cambridge in 2018. In her spare time, she can be found reading and spending time with her family.

Emily BensonKlaudia MakowskaLegal Assistant & Receptionist

Klaudia is our firm's legal assistant and receptionist. She joined our team in March 2023 after moving to Guelph in 2022. She works under the supervision of David Woolcott assisting with family law and civil litigation files. Klaudia grew up in Poland where she earned her Master's degree before moving to Canada in 2013. Prior to joining our team, Klaudia worked for a Toronto law firm that specialized in personal injury law. She is a proud mom of two. Whenever she finds time, she enjoys reading, watching movies and trying her hand at photography.
